So much to consider!

Keep calm and seek support...expert information advice and guidance is available for you to talk through your thoughts and ideas.  The Shared Learning Trust offers an impartial and independent Careers Adviser.  Students are supported by Mrs Farayi Agbame (From Be Positive), she is a qualified Adviser and you can find her in school every Monday and Tuesday.   Mrs Chandler is the Careers Manager and she makes up part of the careers team also.

All Yr 11 students are offered an appointment to see Farayi before the Spring Term (where possible) – this is mainly to talk through the Post 16 transition – a drop-in spot is available on the days she is in and you can also email her directly.

CEIAG (Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance) at Chalk Hills Academy is delivered through a programme which is underpinned by Gatsby and national guidance and reviewed annually. Throughout Yrs 7 – 13 each student has access to careers intervention and employer engagement.  A copy of the CEIAG Programme and Entitlement Statement can be found in the policies section. Some of the companies which add value to students at the Academy are Luton & Dunstable Hospital, The University of Bedfordshire, Leonardo, TUI, IGD, GSK, Vauxhall and many more. We are lucky enough to also have signed up to partner with the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) and South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP).

As a Trust, we are currently working towards achieving the Investors in Careers Award which is a nationally recognised standard for the delivery of impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) in schools.  This means that students will continue to have access to a comprehensive range of careers education activities and guidance through a combination of tutorial activities, assemblies, careers events, external trips, guest facilitators and individual guidance interviews to support their decision making whilst at school and to prepare them well for their future.
