New GCSE 1-9 Grades Explained

Since summer 2017 our Year 11s have been graded on a new 9 to 1 scale (9 being highest) in Maths and English, replacing the old A* to G scale. In summer 2018 exams another 20 subjects will use the new scale and by the summer 2019 season nearly all GCSE subjects will be graded 9 to 1.

Below are 'Nine things you should know' about the new grades as well as a table to show how they compare to the old grade system. We have also added a link to an extended parents' guide to the new 9 to 1 grades.
