‘Ditch the Seagull’ Poster Competition

‘Ditch the Seagull’ Poster Competition

Today some of our KS3 students who entered our anti- litter art competition met with Mr Baker in the Principalship to take part in the awards ceremony. The ‘Ditch the Seagull’ campaign was launched in PL time to raise student awareness of the importance of respecting our environment, by picking up litter and recycling waste.

The standard of work produced by these students was very high, which made judging all the more difficult. However, the panel chose Afreen Zahman’s (9 Tan) poster as first prize, for her use of bold colours and a great catchphrase ‘ Don’t be bitter by choosing to litter’. Second prize went to Adrian Bielenda, (8 Curie), for his image of a basketball player and joint third prizes to Ashihan Sivaseelan (7 Renoir), Aiyzah Ali (9 Newton) and Mahnoor Usman (7 Renoir).

Well done to all of you for your excellent work!
