On Wednesday 13th September, The Chalk Hills Academy celebrated Roald Dahl Day with a number of fun and engaging activities linked to his famous works.
There was a fabulous display all week in our Learning Resource Centre and exciting competitions for all our students to participate in. Every KS3 lesson on Wednesday opened with a short Dahl extract, as did the staff morning briefing. The Senior Leadership Team posed with their favourite Dahl books and the images were displayed throughout the Academy.
Also, all KS3 students have been set a challenge to read a Roald Dahl book and pass their Accelerated Reader quiz by October half term to be entered in to a grand prize draw. The event is one of many planned literacy events to promote reading and oracy across the Academy.
