The week beginning Monday 2nd October saw our KS3 students experience their first collaborative core curriculum week; one of three scheduled this academic year. To celebrate World Space Week our Year 7s and Year 8s completed a number of space themed tasks in their English, maths and science lessons. In English, they produced informative leaflets about a space trip to a planet of their choice and wrote/recorded persuasive advertisements for trips with ‘Virgin Galactic’. In maths, students completed class based activities and an extended homework task relating to planetary conjunction, black holes and escape velocity. And, in science, our learners watched the Apollo 8 launch, constructed and launched their very own rockets. This combined with tutor time activities has resulted in a really positive learning experience for all.
